Former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell claimed on the TV program 60 Minutes that revelations of US electronic spying across the globe caused the worst damage to US intelligence in history. Please. Embarrassment yes. Damage, no. I guess Morell, who just retired, has forgotten real intelligence disasters like Aldrich Ames and the Walker spy ring. In those days, the US was threatened by a real adversary, the USSR. Today,its has no mortal threat, just uncontrolled spy agencies. Calling Ed Snowdon a traitor is just wrong. 60 Minutes continues its trend of sugar-coating government policies.
