Former two time Alexandria Beetle player Allen Craig is one of five NWL alumni to make the MLB All-Star Game roster. Craig, who played for Alexandria in 2003 and 2005, has knocked in 71 runs in 81 games while also hitting 10 home runs for the St. Louis Cardinals. He is currently hitting .329 and has a .429 slugging percentage. Other former Northwoods League players on the all-star roster are: Detroit Tigers - Max Scherzer (La Crosse) Chicago White Sox - Chris Sale (La Crosse) Tampa Bay Rays - Ben Zobrist (Wisconsin) Washington Nationals - Jordan Zimmermann (Eau Claire). The 2013 MLB All Star Game will be held at Citi Field in New York on July 16th.
