Fort Carson Community, Soldiers, and Families, in light of the recent active shooter incident at Fort Hood, Texas, we have raised our security posture at Fort Carson for your protection. We ensure you that we are doing everything in our power to keep you and your loved ones safe. However, we need your help to be effective. We want to believe that everyone, on and around the installation, supports each other and values the life and liberty of others. Protection and safety is all of our responsibilities; everyone is a sensor. What we ask from you, the community at large, is to be ever vigilant of your environment. If something or someone looks out of place, wrong, or suspicious, it probably is, and we ask you to report it. We need your help to be completely effective. We are calling on everyone: Family Members, chains of command, and Soldiers. Together we stand; divided we fall. So let’s work together.
