Fort Carson hosts community town hall meeting FORT CARSON, Colo. - Fort Carson will host a Fort Carson community town hall meeting on Monday at 5 p.m. at the McMahon Auditorium on past, to provide the public with information about the 615th Engineer Company, 52nd Engineer Battalion, deployment to West Africa and measures Fort Carson is taking to safeguard the community against the potential threat of Ebola. 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Paul J. LaCamera, will give opening remarks. Col. Dennis LeMaster, Evans Army Community Hospital commander will discuss the local medical response preparedness, Lt. Col. Robert Price, 4th Inf. Div. surgeon, will speak about the Ebola virus, and Lt. Col. Ralph Radka, 52nd Engineer Battalion commander, will discuss the mission of the 615th Engineer Company. Officials will also conduct a question and answer period. The meeting will provide information to community members on Ebola virus awareness, prevention, detection, treatment measures and the training Soldiers will receive prior to deployment. Approximately 160 Fort Carson engineers will deploy to Africa in support of Operation United Assistance, the U.S. militarys response to the Ebola crisis. The military response is being led by U.S. Africa Command in support of the U.S. Agency for International Development. This is a joint operation with participating units from other branches of the military services, to include the Marines, Navy, and Air Force.
