Fort Davis National Historic Site and Harpers Ferry Center staff - TopicsExpress

Fort Davis National Historic Site and Harpers Ferry Center staff recently oversaw the installation of their Visitor Center exhibits, replacing the park’s Mission-66 exhibits. The exhibits feature a large number of artifacts, display objects, murals, a topo map, and mannequins. Natural history models are used in exhibit dioramas. A façade replicating the first fort construction is made of rough-cut pine with thatch roofing. The exhibits also include a replica stagecoach and interactive audiovisual media. A children’s exhibit area replicates a telegraph station with keys to tap Morse code, an audio interactive to listen to two Morse code messages and signal flags, a tent, and period clothing to try on. Working directly with the park, the exhibits were designed by @RB Varineau and Associates and the Arizona State Museum and fabricated by Southern Custom Exhibits of Alabama, Inc.
