Fort Drum Soldier Missing Near Barker: The New York State Police at SP Binghamton are currently attempting to locate and check the welfare of Gilbert J. Lee, age 22, of Greenville, South Carolina. Mr. Lee is a Soldier stationed at Fort Drum, New York. His vehicle was found abandoned on Interstate 81 southbound in the Town of Barker, approximately 4 miles north of the Castle Creek exit on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at approximately 10:30PM. He has not made contact with any known person since that time, which is highly unusual for him. He may be carrying a rifle with him but there is no reason to believe he is a danger to anyone at this time. Recent photos are attached; he is clean shaven at the present time. He stands 5’ 10” tall, weighs approximately 155 pounds, has red hair and green eyes, and has freckles. He also has a tattoo of Latin letters on one of his forearms (believed to be the left).
