Found this in my archives: Oak Park man has part in ‘Contagion’ Published: Sunday, September 11, 2011 By CHRIS LAINE Of The Oakland Press Boyga Adeseye of Oak Park has a role in the new movie “Contagion,” which was released Friday. The Oakland Press/VAUGHN GURGANIAN An Oak Park man was thrust into the Hollywood spotlight in September when the film he appears in opened to a worldwide release Friday. Boyga Adeseye appears in the upcoming Steven Soderbergh-directed film “Contagion” as an African dignitary. Adeseye auditioned and received the role while auditioning for another local project. “I auditioned for ‘Detroit 1-8-7’ when the show was still on the air, but did not receive the part,” Adeseye said. “I was told during those auditions of this upcoming project to begin filming in November last year. I auditioned for the project and received the role.” Adeseye is also a screenwriter. “It was a great feeling going to work on the set every day,” Adeseye said. “You knew being there every day that this film would be a success.” Being on a working film set gave Adeseye the opportunity to rub shoulders with his film’s co-stars and producers. “I had lunch with Bryan Cranston and spoke with Laurence Fishburne,” Adeseye said. “Steven Soderbergh also gave me some great insight into the business.” The thriller “Contagion” is set around the worldwide outbreak of a deadly virus and the Centers for Disease Control doctors trying to put a stop to it. The film stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Fishburne and Jude Law. The film was released on Friday.
