Four of the basic principles in aviation are . . . DRAG, PULL, LIFT, and THRUST. Sometimes we encounter people who DRAG us down with their negativity or PULL us off course by distracting us. No matter how much we work or sacrifice to help them, it seems they remain the same while we are continually depleted. Then, there are the other types of people who LIFT us up through their encouragement and THRUST us toward our goals as they challenge us to achieve at higher levels. We grow as people simply because someone is there to reinforce our strengths. Consider these principles when you evaluate your relationships. Do you spend your time with those who DRAG and PULL you, or do you invest your time with ones who LIFT and THRUST you toward better things? Also, ask yourself which type YOU are.
