Four years ago today, the Keeper of my Heart came into my world. On April 4th, Easter Sunday, Amandas water broke that evening. She had asked her doctor if she could be induced on April 5 to have him born on my birthday, but the doctor said no. She said it was the NCAA championship game that day, so no. Well, God and Connor had other plans. So, off to the hospital we went. I was there all night with Amanda and Stephen, laboring and waiting with joyful anticipation. 30 hours later, on the night of April 5, Connor Maksym Tyler came into my world and stole my heart. He IS the Keeper of my Heart. Since then, he has endured many things. He has had a stroke, he has Cerebral palsy, he has a heart condition, he has worn AFO braces and SMO braces. He has had speech, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. He has been diagnosed with Prader Willi Syndrome, which was later undiagnosed, something they said NEVER happens. Because of Connor, the way the very advanced genetic testing for PWS is done was FOREVER changed. He was then correctly diagnosed with congenital Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, type 1. He has done things they said he would NEVER do. He has a CAN DO attitude, an INCREDIBLY BRAVE spirit, and an infectious little giggle. He is my everyday hero and one of the lights of our lives. Anyone and everyone who knows him is instantly captured under the spell that is CONNOR and all of his strength, joy, humor, spirit, light, and love. Truly - TO KNOW HIM IS TO LOVE HIM.
