Four years ago today, we lost my brother. It was one of the most painful things I have ever been through. The blessing that came from his death was that I got to see how deadly the disease of addiction was and how much it hurt the people that were left behind. The truth I learned was that my addiction wanted to kill me and until it accomplished that it was going to destroy my life. Jeffs death gave me the strength to get back into NA and I found a new way to live.
