Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of Bettie Evelyn Kenard, 91, who passed away on January 4, 2015 at Memorial University Medical Center of an extended illness surrounded by her family. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, daughter of John Mitchell Elliott and Jessie Thomasson Elliott. Mrs. Kenard resided in Savannah for many years and was of the Catholic faith. She loved to sew and was a talented artist of beautiful crosstitch and weaving pieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Francis Kenard and son, Gary Edward Kenard. Surviving are a son, Steven Mitchell Kenard (Joyce) of Savannah, GA; daughter, Barbara Evelyn Land (David) of Beebe, AR; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 12:35 pm on Wednesday in the Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to The Gideons International, Memorial Bible Chairman.
