Frager council minutes.... Hi again, I wanted to sneak in one more update before the November election cycle really takes off. As usual, there are a large number of things going on in Madison, but I’m going to limit this update to a few of the projects that I am intimately involved with and a few others that just might interest you. So here goes…. · The Administrative Search continues. Our 5 person sub-group has been reviewing resumes and conducting interviews and background checks for 2 months now. To date, the process has not produced the results we are looking for and that you deserve. Our self-imposed deadline of September 30th has not been met, but we are all in agreement that we have to get this right this time so the process continues. It is my opinion that this is the most important position within the administration so we have to be diligent with the process. · The Economic Development sub-group that I also belong to, presented the marketing program to attract new business to the area at the last council workshop. The video link below, along with the print media package produced, demonstrates a new and aggressive commitment to bringing new revenue to the Village and improving the tax base and overall quality of life. Please share your thoughts on the video as some adjustments can be made (Subtitles will be added soon). youtube/watch?v=Th3cuXmc6w4 · Also at our last workshop, the village engineer, URS, presented the preliminary logistics and costs for project completion of the 3rd item of their 12 point recommendation to advancing the SWM (Storm Water Management) program. It is the belief that this project can be funded and completed before the year is out. I am looking for this to come forward at the next council meeting for a vote. Certainly the next few items on the list will be part of the 2014 budget discussions for council and the mayor. · Quick hits include o The Roads and Parks sub-group, of which I am a part of, has been working with the Garden Club to potentially present a portable ice rink to the residents. more to come soon, I hope. o Check out the work being done at Dana’s park. This is being funded and driven by the efforts of the MCIC. My thanks to that organization for their investment into our community. o Please check out what we are doing with the Village website. There are a number of updates and improvements being made right now. We think you will like what’s happening and the information that is now easily available. o Please mark your planners for December 7th. The MJRD Christmas in the Village Park is scheduled to come back on that date once again. As I always state, if you want to be taken off of this list please just let me know.
