Francistown Residents may have to wait longer before the integrated sports #stadia is officially opened. This follows the theft of copper cables at #Francistown Stadium worth over 600 thousand Pula. Infrastructure Minister, Johnnie Swartz told Parliament that police are searching for the suspects who stripped the facility of its copper cabling. The case was reported to Tati town Police Station. He was responding in Parliament to a question from Francistown South MP, Wynter Mmolotsi, who wanted to know if the stadium has been vandalised and the cost of the damages. Francistown Stadium is one of the mega-projects that government had embarked on to lure soccer teams to use the facilities as training grounds for the 2010 world cup that was held in South Africa.
