Frankie Knuckles was special human being. There are so many true adjectives that come to mind, when I reflect on 30 years of knowing him. Kind, Compassionate, Generous, Supportive, Encouraging, Protective, are just a few. There was never any hidden agenda with him. Never shady. You always felt important around him. Id learned so much about life, and business from back in the eighties to lessons learned just a week ago. He always made you feel if he could do it so could you. He was an extraordinarily calming presence while just talking for a second in a car or playing together with a thousand people on a dancefloor in front of you. Frankie was The only person I knew that no one had any bad things to gossip about. Socially or business-wise, his reputation was impeccable. Spotless. No haters. Thats a rarity for someone of his stature. The doors he opened for me throughout 30 years, even recent endeavors, are too many to list. The motivation I received to continue performing was priceless. To live without embarrassment or fear of judgmental people, was prophet-like. Men arent supposed to cry. Im beginning to tear-up, so Ill concluded by saying, I miss him already, and hope I could eventually be a positive influence on others as he was to me. Thank You Frankie for everything! I will never forget your music and your heart!
