Frankincense Testimonial Simon our Standard Poodle About two - TopicsExpress

Frankincense Testimonial Simon our Standard Poodle About two years ago, just a couple days before Christmas Simon seemed a little different before we all settled down for a long winters nap. ☺ When we arose the next morning our baby boy was running into the walls, tripping on steps and generally freaking out. My husband said, ‘come quick I think Simon is blind’. We quickly got him to our local vet, who just said ‘yes you got a blind dog, he’ll adjust’! Of course that was not good enough for us. The following day we got him into see another local vet, who advised us to get him to a eye specialist in Spokane. We actually got him in the following day. He at this point is still unable to see and is trembling and cowering on his pillow. Did I mention he was only 2 years old? Dr Yakley (animal eye specialist in Spokane) did a thorough eye exam, (we were there about 4 hours). He came to the conclusion that due to a tick bite about a year before, it caused such severe inflammation in his body that it detached both retinas in his eyes. We were told the cells in the eyes can live up to 30 days in this condition so there is a chance, if we get the inflammation down the retinas may reattach. We agreed to start him on a high dose of prednisone (a very strong anti-inflammatory with very serious side effects, long term use is not a good thing) and were to bring him back in one week. So we followed the doctor’s instructions, and a couple days before News Years Eve I noticed he was following my hand signals in the yard. OMG, I think it’s working. The doctor reduces his dose and we made an appointment for one week. That week the inflammation was back up. So we increased the dose of prednisone and needed to go back in one week. We did this till JUNE! His eyesight was back with a little vision impairment due to scar tissue, but he could see. However we could not get him off the prednisone. I finally asked the doctor if he was familiar with essential oils. He said ‘are they like antioxidants or something’ :( Anyway he agreed it wouldn’t do any harm to use the oils along with the prednisone,,,,,,you know what was on my mind. He is coming off the prednisone and I am starting him on Frankincense. I knew we would be going back soon, worst case scenario, we would just have to put him back on the prednisone. So Simon got 2 drops on his food morning and night, a total 4 drops per day. When we went back a few weeks later the doctor could not find any sign of inflammation in Simon. He turned to us and said, “What did you say you were giving this dog”? I felt so good that we were able to open the eyes of this doctor. He actually went on line and ordered a Modern Essentials Book. Simon is still doing great. Simon, Tia (our other Standard Poodle), Rick and I take Frankincense on a daily basis as a preventative measure. This is recommended by Dr Hill, doTERRA’s Chief Medical Advisor. The properties of Frankincense: Anticancer, antidepressant, Anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antitumor, expectorant, immune stimulant, and sedative. Because it contains sesquiterpenes, enabling it to go beyond the blood-brain barrier. It may also help oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands. It increases the activity of leukocytes, defending the body against infection. Our Life Long Vitality Supplements contain Frankincense, but Rick and I do the additional two drops morning and night.
