Fraudulent activity related to the Purdue University shooting As many of us in the community look for ways to support or donate in the wake of Tuesdays tragic shooting we need to be aware that there are unscrupulous individuals who attempt to profit from such events. This press release is meant to assist citizens and businesss safeguard themselves against fraudulent fundraisers or unauthorized merchants attempting to sell merchandise or raise money in an attempt to benefit from our tragedy. The West Lafayette Police Department has been advised that Purdue University does not have any formal fundraising campaigns at this time, which would include anything associated with Boiler Strong. There is no financial benefit to Purdue University or the victims family by purchasing any item related to Boiler Strong. Please feel free to contact the West Lafayette Police Department if you have information regarding subjects attempting to benefit from this tragic event.
