Freddie was an abandoned feral kitten, cold and lonely living in a box in a garden when he was found. He was cold, hungry and covered in chewing gum. His rescuer took him to the vet, had him checked over and cleaned up. Then took him home, fed him and after some careful TLC managed to nurse him back to full health. Over time they formed a really great bond, and Freddie turned out to be a perfect pet - Loving, friendly and incredibly independent, coming and going as he pleased. Over the year he got to know his neighbours and everyone loved him. He would visit his friends often to say hello, a play and a sleep on a sofa. Hed even follow you to the front door, when you returned from work with a friendly greeting and a cute meow. He had a really happy life and seemed to be very street smart. Freddie was so friendly he jumped into a neighbours boot and was taken for a ride without them knowing. His owner was very worried and looked everywhere for him. Then one day he showed up and we heard of his adventure from the driver, who found him when she returned home. It seemed he had a great time! It was a warm summers day in July when we heard the terrible news from Freddies owner. It seemed he had been struck by a car earlier in the day. The driver didnt sop but the car behind did... and stayed with him until he passed away... So very, very sad. We all miss him very much and still cant get used to not seeing him waiting at the front door, or running around the back fence excited to see you (that was a very funny sight). Ive met lots of cats before and am not usually a cat person but Freddie was different. Ill never, ever forget the year and a half I got to know him, play with him, stroke him and watch his personality grow. He was a lovely kitty and well never forget little Freddie. If you have an outdoor cat, please make the most of your time together and really appreciate it, because you never know when it may end.
