Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic – Saturday, September 28,2013 at the Fitchburg Fire Station FITCHBURG— Second Chance will be holding a free rabies vaccination clinic on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Fitchburg Fire station, 33 North Street, off of Main Street, Fitchburg from 9 am to 11 am. The vaccination is free to the first 500 animals, pet owners from all cities and towns are welcome. Dogs must be on leash and cats must be in carriers. If your pet is eligible for a 3 year vaccination, please bring a copy of prior vaccination information. The Fitchburg Animal Shelter and ACE Central MA will also provide support, and the clinic is open to residents of any town. Second Chance is also offering the distemper vaccine (DA2PPV) for $5.00 for each animal. "This vaccine we use does protect against Hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvo," says Second Chance Director Michelle Graveline. This clinic funded with a grant from: ASPCA. Second Chance is a nonprofit 501c3 that began in 1999 in East Brookfield. The Shelter operates an adoption center in East Brookfield as well as the new Pet Wellness and Education Center in North Brookfield. The shelter relies on community support and grant funding to operate and facilitates adoptions, spay/neuter services, and many other programs that help to make pet’s lives better.
