Free the Fuzz fundraiser As part of the 11th annual Free the Fuzz fundraiser — which kicked off Thursday — a Calgary police officer, along with a sheriff and correctional officer, was hoisted to the top of a local Walmart, all for a good cause. The three officers will be on the roof of the Northland Dr. Walmart until Sunday at 4 p.m. to raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Alberta So far $25,000 has already been raised. Donations can be made at the location or by purchasing a hotdog or pop at the event. The Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run is a grassroots organization made up of law enforcement officers dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the Special Olympics. Special Olympics Alberta provides individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in sport. Last year in Alberta, nearly $500,000 was raised for Special Olympics.
