Free workshop, Takapuna (Auckland), 18 November 2013: A lot of people are surprised when we start talking about disability and domestic violence, but as those of us with disabilities know abuse is rampant in the disabled community. It’s just that we don’t often talk about it, and if we do try to talk it’s often minimised or ignored. Part of this is that people are horrified that it happens, and they don’t know how to respond.
