Freedom is SPECTRUM FUNCTIONAL. There is a pivot point in the spectrum of freedom to its antithesis where the presumption of freedom is self accepted even though it is just a perception of perspective. In most every way, the health of the being is affected by the perception of where ones self is within this spectrum but also, the recognition to ones self in acceptance or rejection of that position. Even if these animals are food, they are also alive and lives are meant to be lived in freedom to experience life. Without this meaning, the health of any life is subjective. Just because something CAN live in a cage, doesnt mean it SHOULD! It should suitably live in the best possible environment for a means of health and in the case of food, that health will be passed on to the consumer. In the case of the animal itself, including humans, it is relevant to their ability to enjoy and experience life. This is surely a reflection of the self proclaimed superiority over nature, and the separation thereof, humans foist in an illogical, unprovable idiology for wide spread acceptance of fiction to horde wealth and the myth of the requirement of competition and still, against the noncompeting. As I see it... This parochial is spit in the eye to that which created human kind and that disintegration is/will undoubtedly be the demise of either one or both as it is recognized to be. Measurement of ones being is surely found through the weight of self feedback, by way of positive and negative emotion, and all else are only contributing factors. These pigs are definitely happier in this environment and likely healthier because of it even though they are not 100% free. Those positive emotions feedback the conditions of their experiences in life. Pure freedom may be more difficult and the feedback for those conditions would be presumably less positive emotion and so it would not be correct to say these terms are equal but only relational. That said, in the case of humanity, one might ask the question... What degree do the majority of humans experience freedom based upon the emotional feedback in the current environment?
