Fresher’s orientation at East West University in Fall 2014 The orientation programs of the newly admitted students for Fall Semester 2014 in different academic programs of East West University were held at the University’s own campus, at Aftabnagar, Dhaka on September 04, 2014. Every Department arranged its own program for the newly admitted students. More than 800 students got admitted in 11 different disciplines in this semester. Department of Business Administration arranged the orientation program at the Auditorium Lobby of East West University. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of Board of Trustees graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Professor Ahmed Shafee, Vice Chancellor of the University was present as the special guest in the program. Professor Dr. Tanbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairperson of DBA and Dean of Faculty of Business & Economics chaired the program. Among others, Air Cdre Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury (Rted), Registrar of EWU was also present on the stage. The objective of the program was to welcome the new students and orient them to the university facilities, faculty members and academic system. In the newly created Department of Law, with its first students enrolled for this Fall Semester with 42 students. Dr. Mahfuz, newly appointed Assistant Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Law, welcomed the newly admitted students. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of Board of Trustees, Professor Ahmed Shafee, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Chowdhury Faiz Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Professor Dr. Shahriar Haque, Dean, Faculty Liberal Arts and Social Science, Dr. Dilara Begum, Librarian of EWU, among others were present on this occasion. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin welcomed Freshers to the EWU campus and encouraged the students to work hard from the beginning and try to get a scholarship thus reducing the liabilities of their guardians. Professor Ahmed Shafee urged the newly admitted students to make the best use of the University resources. He propelled them to not only to compete with one another, but also to develop a cooperative attitude to help each other.
