Freshmen, you are all now one step to being a sophomore, but let me give my two cents before you move forward: (1) You need to value your work more than you value it now. Procrastinating and cramming no longer has its place in the next few years of your stay. Grow up. Your teachers will no longer treat you as kids but as colleague, which means we are expecting self-reliance and industry from each one. (2) I know you need grades, but aiming for good grades will not get you anywhere in the long run. Id rather get a 2.5 and claim I learned something nice than a 1 and have no clue at all. Let learning be your foremost goal in being in school. Its something you cannot achieve overnight. Finally, find yourself. Studying without a sense of direction will get you nowhere. Sticking to a course you do not necessarily like will alienate you from your work. However, you need to consciously find your self so you can find where you can get better. Again, we shall see each other at the corridors of the school, but I hope you remember all these. Carpe diem!
