Friday, 14 March 2014 13:23 Police close street to search for MISSING PENIS BRITISH police closed four lanes of traffic to search for a man’s missing penis after he was discovered injured on the side of the road. The 40-year-old man was found alongside a dual carriageway in the English town of Middlesborough in the early hours of Thursday morning (local time). Police sealed off a large stretch of the road while they searched between 4:30am and 9am. Eight officers were seen looking through a grass verge at the side of the carriageway. Police suspect a gypsy gang cut off the man’s member when they discovered he had slept with one of their girlfriends, The Daily Mail reports. Staff members at a nearby grocery store have backed up the rumour. “A few of the Asda staff have been talking and apparently it was some gypsy men doing it to another guy after the found out he had slept with one of their girlfriends,” one employee said. “I don’t know his name but that seems to be what I have heard.” The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance and placed in an induced coma. Meanwhile, police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of assault. He was later bailed. “Officers are keeping an open mind as to how he received his injuries and key to this will be speaking to the man himself when they are able to do so,” a police spokesman said. It is unclear whether authorities managed to find the missing appendage. If they did, there’s a chance it could be reattached. “It can bleed a hell of a lot. It’s just like severing a finger,” Professor Raj Persad, a urologist and erectile dysfunction expert, told The Daily Mail. “You need to keep it clean and put it in an isolated plastic bag, then pack it with ice. “The functional recovery will depend on where the injury was ...
