Friday, August 15, 2014 It was another cloudy day on the peninsula, but in spite of that we got going and drove to La Push, which was only about fifteen miles west of us. They have three different beaches in La Push and we drove down to the end which they call First Beach. There was a huge beach with lots of drift wood and stunning views of the Pacific and its rock formations. After walking on the beach and taking some pictures we drove to the other side of the river which is called Rialto Beach. This beach is actually part of Olympic National Park. The park is mostly inland but it has a separate section on the Pacific Ocean. The view from Rialto beach was much the same as First Beach except it had much more drift wood and the surf was stronger. We did see a little bit of sun there but still not enough for the pictures to do the view justice. Tomorrow we are going to leave Forks and begin our long trip back eastward. Our first stop will be in the Tacoma andSeattle Washington area.
