Friday, August 29, 2014, 12:15 PM From this afternoon into Sunday, Arkansas will see the best chances for showers and thunderstorms that we have seen recently. Some of the storms will produce gusty winds, but chances for severe weather will be pretty low. If there were to be isolated severe storms, damaging winds would be the main severe weather threat. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain. Between now and Sunday evening, many places in Arkansas should pick up around 1/2 inch of rain, and there will likely be some totals in the 1 to 2 inch range. A few spots could pick up enough rain to cause some brief, isolated flooding, but no widespread flooding is expected. Unless conditions change considerably, this will be the only message on this round of storms.
