Friday Night Eurosounds! Tonight’s Eurosound is Jamie Cullum’s “What a Difference a Day Made”. The Jazz-pianist and vocalist was born on August 20th, 1979 in Rochford, England. His first album “Pointless Nostalgic” was released after his graduation from Reading University in 2002. What followed in 2003 was his platinum winning album “Twentysomething”. His style is rooted in jazz but is often considered “cross-over” with influences from other genres such as pop. His recordings include original work, jazz standards, and covers of songs by Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Radiohead, etc. He was awarded the “Rising Star” in July 2003 and has been nominated for a variety of awards such as the Grammys, the BRIT awards, and the Golden Globes for best original song. He won the Ronnie Scotts Jazz Award for “Best British Male” in 2007. Enjoy this fun jazz standard interpreted by Jamie Cullum – a young and extremely talented European from whom we can expect to surprise us with his stylistic diversity and great musicality in the future. youtube/watch?v=F1r6GcPqFSo
