Friday, September 27, 2013: Watch TV much, if you do you might see young vibrant apparently financially independent folks living the good life and, if you buy the hair thingy or the car thingy or the vacation package you can be just as young and cool as they are. Seems like the Rolling Stones had a song / Satisfaction, that spoke to this craziness. Run after it, chase the dream or at least the fantasy of the dream. Listen to the radio stations that play stuff that may be a little edgy or a lot edgy. All sounds like fun, doesn’t it? All of my life I have needed people to help me. My mom, dad, my friends, my wife, and I had some good mentors as well. I remember being able to talk to them and listen to what they had to say and consider my response. Great memories of watching my mom cook, the way it smelled and helping clean the kitchen. Fishing with my dad, sitting on the couch with my wife and Grandfather all good memories. I also remember sitting by myself just being, just listening, just feeling the wind or the sun on my face. I think God speaks to us in those quieter moments. The times we sit and hold hands, leaning our heads against each other, eating popcorn or, Pupcorns, as Grampie would say. The time when your turn the TV off and play Blabble with your kids or sit under the blankies and talk about the days issues or the days to come. Try it today, close your eyes, picture sitting on the couch eating popcorn and talking to God about the day or the days to come. Talk about the concerns of your heart for yourself, your friends, the folks you care about the most. Can you feel the warmth of the blankie?
