Fridays the day! Susan is on the schedule for surgery Friday 12:30pm at Childrens Hospital. I spoke with the ENT doc. He said Susan will have her bronchospy Friday. While theyre in there.... if they see she needs a tracheotomy, theyre going to do it at the same time. The doctor thinks she will indeed need a trach, so theres a good chance Susan will be in surgery for a couple hours and taking a HUGE step towards her recovery and subsequent homecoming. If she gets her trach, theres 5-6 weeks of recovery & monitoring time - along with Angela and I learning how to care for her - which includes keeping her trach area clean and changing out her breathing tube. We are very excited to take this next big step. Especially Angela. If you dont know my wife, she is the most AMAZING mother to our children. Besides spoiling them beyond anything they can comprehend, Angela has a heart the size of Montana. Angela is not afraid of administering the constant care Susan will need, as well as working with the skilled nurses who will be regular visitors into our home. Susan will be the most spoiled child in the history of mankind and will want for nothing on her way to recovery, so she can focus one one thing: Growing her lungs. Im speaking in Orlando Friday and have cut my trip short, traveling late Thursday and arriving home early Saturday. Well be rallying our usual suspects of friends to help take Madeline, Laura and Paige for the afternoon on Friday, so Angela can stay with Susan at the hospital for a little while longer, as Im out of town. The plan can change if Susan spikes a fever, or something else comes up but for now, its all systems go! #Day115 #OneMoreBreath
