Fried air and coins :) From an online forum... Pedigreed coins do not exist. A coin obviously does not change because someone with name recognition owned it before. What happens is hype, also known as fried air. Its not just previous owners, but also stuff like plate coins, slabbed, artificially toned and packaged coins. If someone wants to buy fried air, I deplore that, but they wont listen to me, so I am happy they spend their money on fried air and I can buy the coins I am interested in even cheaper. That doesnt help you as a seller, so your comfort must be different: you want a good home for your coins, someone who appreciates the coins for themselves, not for their surrounding myths. People who prefer to look at the fried air, rather than the coin would not be the best of owners for the exceptional coins you want to sell. Peter(handle:Figleaf)
