Friends, Despite some silence on our end, GSL is alive and well. I apologize for the drop in communications. The shift from summer to fall is always an abrupt one and we are taking some time to strategically examine our vision and develop activities for the coming year, which promises to have more ways for you to engage and participate. Among other news, stay tuned for announcements regarding upcoming programs, including: · End-of-year crowd funding campaign run by Global Giving · New and improved Global Service Leaders website! · International Day of Service – January 20, 2014 · 2014 Service Innovation Summit – location, themes and dates to follow!!!!! At this time, I want to introduce you to Hajira Khan. Hajira joins us from Pakistan and will be here with me for a full year. (Yeah!!!) She is a young professional and brings lots of great experience from the nonprofit sector and an incredible passion for volunteering. You might already be familiar with her program and one of our favorites - Atlas Service Corps. Hajira has hit the ground running and I know that we can expect great things from her. In the meantime, please stay in touch via Facebook & Twitter! Or you can email me directly, at [email protected]. Thanks Meg Clifford Poole Director Global Service Leaders Meridian International Center
