Friends! Ive been at work on an online presence for my privately taught creative writing classes. Ive named the program series Storybuilding, and Ive launched its parent website. Its in beta! Id love for you to take a look at it: storybuildingseries. Im TOTALLY open to feedback: design, readability, color scheme, ease of access, confusion, frustrations, typos, glitches, etc. If a critique comes to mind, I would deeply appreciate to hear your thoughts. ONE MORE THING: Im launching a Saturday morning writing series called Under/Over/On for creatives in the South. You can read more about it storybuildingseries/under-over-on/. The idea is that a quiet Saturday morning, a cup of joe, a pencil, and a work of art—in combination—can radically shake up perspective, ideas, and ultimately inspiration. In time, I hope to bring it to other cities, perhaps in conjunction with a road trip. Im unsure how this will all work. Atlanta first, world domination next. I designed Under/Over/On with the idea of creating an accessible, free event that ignites creativity through language and art. Anyone may come, and it will always be free. Its in line with CreativeMornings, but I wanted to create a conversation in an intimate setting where all artistic disciplines could come together. The location will shift with each event, as will the instructor and theme. The soft launch of Over/Under/On is Saturday, 8/23, 9:30 am at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. TO LITERARY/ARTIST FRIENDS ALL OVER THE WORLD: If youre driving through the South and would be interested in hosting/leading an Under/Over/On (perhaps in conjunction with a book tour or exhibition), PLEASE reach out to me.
