Friends, Please read this! I just received an extensive letter and website from our friend and MABC Asst. Program Director at Kyiv Theological Seminary. He lived for a while and went to school in Mississippi. This explains his analogy. But the Crimea charade was not just an illegal vote for independence (that wasnt on the ballot), it was a vote to join an invading, neighboring foreign nation. Geographically, it would be more like Michigan (a peninsula like Crimea) voting to join Canada AFTER it had invaded and taken control of all governmental building and all media. But that analogy doesnt include the centuries of tumultuous and genocidal relationships at play in EurAsia and Eastern Europe. The good news? God is at work in amazing ways in Ukraine. Please pray - right now - for your brothers and sisters in Christ in this very special nation. -------------------------------- Dear Wayne, We greatly appreciate your concern and prayers! In moments like these God helps us to experience our dependence on Him and the need for mutual prayer support. So, please, do continue to intercede for Ukraine. As for the so called “vote” in Crimea, let me clarify that it’s a fictitious show. A part of Ukraine has no legal right to vote for separation, according to law. That would be like Mississippi suddenly deciding to vote for independence. There can be no referendum, when a territory is occupied by foreign troops. It was originally not possible and not meant to be an honest vote. There are some in Crimea who do want to join Russia, but almost half are Ukrainians and Tatars. So, the “overwhelming vote” for Russia is a lie. But that’s not the most important… The most important thing is that the LORD REIGHS!!!!! over all putins, hitlers, nebuchadnezzars, etc. See e.g. 2 Chron. 20:6, Isaiah 14:24, 27, Daniel 2:20-21, 4:32-35. And He uses them to carry out His perfect plan. Therefore, I pray most importantly for His will to be done in Ukraine: that His name may be glorified, that many people would turn to Him through these troubles, so the church may wake up and be purified. “For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?” In other words, what good is it for a man, if he lives a little longer, a little wealthier, a bit more comfortable, but does not know God and perishes forever? Most people in Ukraine need to repent before God and turn to Him through Jesus. God uses turmoil like this to humble the people. We already see the results. Both publicly and privately, Ukrainians are turning to God. Public prayer at central squares of cities is becoming more and more regular and common. The link is in English, about Kiev: irf.in.ua/eng/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=396%3A1&catid=34%3Aua&Itemid=61 and this one shows different cities, but it’s in Russian: ngnews.org/vo-mnogih-gorodah-ukrainyi-proshli-molitvennyie-veche-obnovlyaetsya/#.UyZKEnkbfWw.facebook So, let’s praise the Lord for His work among the people, and keep praying for His name to be glorified through this in Ukraine, in Russia and in the whole world, for many to be saved, and for peace and God’s blessings according to His plan. May God bless America too, and bring His revival there also! With love your Ukrainian brother, Andriy Murzin
