Friends, SUB: FATE OF RTI APPLICATIONS AGAINST IRDA AND LIC. on 22/8/2014 I had filed an application with the IRDA to know more about the alleged change of syllabus of IC 33 with effect from july 2014. The website of the IRDA stated it specifically that the syllabus has been changed. in fact the IRDA had not changed the syllabus of IC33, they had changed the book. The old book was from CII and now the IRDA has chnged it to III. But on the website the IRDA stated that the syllabus has been changed. whereas on the website if we go to the page of syllabus, it catagorically shows the sysllabus of 2004. no change thereafter. the CPIO of IRDA did not respond. i had to file a First appeal with the IRDA on 8/10/2014 after waiting for more than a month. the FAA in its orders passed on 7/11/2014 told me that my application was received on 26/8/2014 and that the same has not been responded till date. the FAA then asked the CPIO to provide the information as per the time limits laid down by the RTI Act but in any case within 10 days from the date of this order. the letter reached me 11/11/2015. Now after waiting for another two months, when the information has not been received , i was compelled to file a Second appeal with the CIC. i filed this appeal on 6/1/2015 and am hopeful that the honourable CIC will do the justice and not only the information shall be provided but also the CPIO and FAA should be fined Rs 25,000 as the delay has already exceeded by 100 days. Otherwise for the interest of readers i may inform you that my second appeal cum complaint filed in 2010 with the honourable CIC, in a separate case against LIC is still awaited for hearing.
