Friends, The ground has suddenly shifted in the SE Wisconsin boys’ club volleyball world. On behalf of our coaches, players, and families we want to thank Angie and Shane Hardwick and the entire West Allis Lightning organization for their tireless work in the world of youth volleyball for the last 15 years. While rivals on the court, we’ve always respected the organization for its mission and great track record of developing youth volleyball players. We will miss them and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. To the players and families of WAL we want to personally reach out to you about the possibilities of trying out for and joining Milwaukee Volleyball Club. Shortly after the news broke, we immediately began looking for additional gym space and recruiting more top level coaches to handle potentially larger participation in our club. This is a unique opportunity to bring in most of SE WI’s top boys’ talent in one boys’ club. For years, WAL and MVC have “split” the talent pool for a variety of reasons. This is an opportunity to have the most talented teams possible at EACH age group train together and to compete and represent the Greater Metro Milwaukee area at USAV Nationals. At this point, we are working towards hosting at least three teams at 15’s, 16’s, and 17’s. Our goals will be to train and qualify at least two teams in each age group for USAV Nationals. MVC has a long history of developing talent by offering two teams at most age groups since 1996. We have qualified two teams in one age group several times and have trained future All-State and collegiate level players by being able to offer multiple spots per age group. For our players and families we offer fundraising opportunities for helping minimize the impacts to family budgets of participating in club volleyball. Over the years, we have held coffee sales, pizza sales, etc. to help players realize their goals of playing for our club. This year we are looking to offer even more opportunities to make the club experience more affordable for our players and families. Unfamiliar with Milwaukee Volleyball Club, its mission, or its staff? We would love to tell you about MVC’s rich history and what we can offer your son or daughter. Please give us a call at or email Jim Plaisted, senior consultant for the boys program, at 414-502-8016 or jim.plaisted@gmail to discuss what MVC can offer your family. Our traditions and goals are to offer highly competitive volleyball training, an excellent coaching staff, national exposure for volleyball pursuits after high school, and the opportunity to make new friends and memories for a lifetime. We encourage you to explore the opportunity to try out for the club this fall and we know you won’t be disappointed. Good luck in your fall season! ABOUT MVC MVC began as North Shore Milwaukee (NSMVC) in 1990 offering a brief, two tournament season with two teams and 15 players. The founding members and first generation of athletes to play for NSMVC started something special. We put boys’ volleyball on the national map for the Greater Metro Milwaukee area and Southeastern Wisconsin. It is an organization that has positively impacted the lives of hundreds and hundreds of players and families in the area. • 31 Top-Ten finishes at USA Volleyball National Championships • National Championship (14’s, 2001) • 35 All-Tournament selections at USAV National Championships • Over 100 collegiate scholarships awarded • Junior National Beach Champions at 18s in 2013 and 2014 • 71% of 1st Team All-State High School Players (70 of 98) in the last 14 years MVC is recognized nation-wide as one of the premier boys’ volleyball clubs in developing talent for future collegiate endeavors and we have had several alumni invited to play on the USA Youth and Men’s Junior National Teams. We are also proud of our local success in helping youth players develop their skills to help them play at their highest level in their high school program. Because of the level of success the club has achieved over the years, we have seen our membership base grow from an area of just a few square miles to one of that reaches every corner of the Greater Metro Milwaukee area and beyond. This past season we had 16 teams and over 185 athletes. Our players come from not only the Greater Metro Milwaukee area but also from as far away as Racine, Beloit, Madison, and Appleton. MVC is a collection of committed coaches, supportive parents and outstanding young athletes that are proud to represent MVC on a local and national level.
