Friends and Family: This is an exciting time for the Troop as we start making preparations to redeploy! However, A Troop has been selected to play a critical role in the closure of FOB Sharana, so the unit is still very focused on the mission at hand. Also, it is with great pride that we welcome back 2nd Platoon. For the last 7 months both 1st and 2nd Platoon have been serving with B Troop at Super FOB, and I couldn’t be happier with how the command team at B Troop accepted both platoons, what an outstanding and professional organization! Although 1st Platoon will redeploy on the B Troop timeline, we are extremely excited to get 2nd Platoon back under the A Troop guidon. August has been a busy month for the troop. On top of all the hard work the Soldiers have done to assist with the closure of FOB Sharana, the troop has still found time to train, conduct competitions, and promote and reward Soldiers (pictures coming soon). Again, the Soldiers of A Troop continue to succeed at every task they are assigned, and the First Sergeant and I continue to be amazed at the dedication and professionalism of the entire unit. Finally, I would like to personally thank all the wonderful family members that have been working so hard to ensure that our single Soldiers are taken care of when we get home. The sacrifices you all are making back home are not unnoticed. Now that the calendar has turned to September, it is nice to be able to say that we will see you all next month!
