Friends, family, peers: I am honored to announce that I will be serving as a White House Young Ambassador for Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPI). I, and 29 of my peers, were selected from the across the United States and will be working with the White House Initiative for AAPIs on engaging, empowering, and educating on four topic areas: Education, Mental Health, Pathways to Public Service, and Immigration. Those of you who know me well know that I am a strong advocate for diversity. I ask you this year, to please lend me your support as I try to work with AAPIs across the country. If you have any thoughts on those topics, Id love to hear from you. As I start my role, you may see me using social media to share knowledge on various topics: problems facing AAPI youth, possible solutions, and simple cultural pieces. I urge you to please help me by sharing these posts with your own followers. I would be remiss to not also thank all of those people in my life who have brought me this far. Especially my family. My Mother, Lata Sujanani, Father (too cool for facebook), and brother, Rahul Sujanani have been my inspiration, my support network, and my constant cheerleaders. Seeing their sacrifices and plight firsthand was what motivated me to apply to this program. A big thank you as well to Matthew Soares for doing all the little and big things. Its going to be a great 2014-2015.
