Friends, family, prayer warriors. Although surgery was necessary - TopicsExpress

Friends, family, prayer warriors. Although surgery was necessary to repair my retina and save my vision in my right eye, the preparation for the laser procedure was less severe than last year when my left eye had two major tears. The right eye today only had a small tear in the upper left quadrant, although undetectable a week ago. If it were allowed to expand my vision would have been compromised. The small size of the tear allowed the Dr. to use a topical anesthetic in the form of eye drops, as opposed to the injection necessary to numb the area behind the retina that was employed last year. The laser procedure itself was a little painful as I felt each blast of the laser as it cauterized the tear. However, my main reason for apprehension (read Fear) was the memory of the numbing injection I had to endure last year. When the Dr. informed me that could be avoided, I relaxed and the surgery went forward basically without incident. I am SO thankful for ALL your prayers and well wishes. They REALLY meant a lot to me and I will be eternally grateful.
