Friends in Faith, It was a stone soup Sunday last week in more - TopicsExpress

Friends in Faith, It was a stone soup Sunday last week in more ways than one. We had a blast enjoying stone soup and singing some of Pete Seegers songs - led by Lydia Adams Davis and friends - during coffee hour, and we enlisted the help of a whole bunch of musicians - the Correllus family, Katie Budryk, Steve Partlow, and Lydia - to lead us in worship as Donald was in the hospital. Im glad to announce hes home and recovering well, but he wont be able to be with us again this Sunday. When I was visiting Donald in the hospital, I shared how it seems like our little congregation - a small part of the Body of Christ - seems to be increasingly experiencing some of the Lenten journey - and its accompanying suffering - as we progress through the season. A quick glance at the prayer list will show how many of our friends have been dealing with significant physical struggles. Please keep them in your prayers. While we focused on the freedom Christ provided in opening the blind mans eyes during the sermon last week, this Sunday well encounter the story of Lazarus in John 11:1-45 - with all its enfleshed heartache - and how by raising him from the dead, Jesus profoundly deepened and broadened our understanding of life. Holy Week and Easter are right around the corner, so visit our webpage for a full list of worship opportunities to embrace the fullness of the season. faithfully, Pastor Ben
