Friends of the Northeast Lions, we need your help. Last week the Legislature passed a bill that will make useful reforms in Charitable Gambling law. It won by a 96% majority across both houses, and is on Governor Dayton’s desk. The Governor is reluctant to sign it. Please contact Governor Dayton to ask he sign Senate File 2642. This is what we sent: “Governor Dayton, I ask you to sign the Charitable Gambling bill (Senate File 2642). This legislation is important to The Lions Club of Northeast Minneapolis and the community we serve. Many people depend on the donations we generate from our charitable gambling business. Please help us to better fulfill our mission.” You can leave a voicemail at 651-201-3400 or fill out a contact form at mn.gov/governor/contact-us/form/ If the bill is not signed within 10 days, it dies.
