Friends, the unexpected and tragic passing of my friend Jimmy - TopicsExpress

Friends, the unexpected and tragic passing of my friend Jimmy James has taught me an important lesson.... Did I know JJ well? No, I most certainly didnt. To claim otherwise would be a lie. That was MY fault- my loss...I in fact only met Jimmy one time. Of course, we hit it off and couldve been great friends, talked about working out together or just plain hanging out. He was one hell of a good guy- I saw that instantly. He was the cousin of one of my greatest friends Heather Lauderdale. Actually a BROTHER. Anyone who Heather considers her brother I have instant respect for! Jimmy and I talked of doing this and that, going here or there, where, what, why.....but never did. And guess what? One day last week I woke up and he was gone from this earth. Jimmys death reinforced an important lesson.....None of us are ever guaranteed a tomorrow. If you have friends, make them feel needed. Love completely and unconditionally. Stop....waiting for the bigger better deal to come along and love someone while you and they are still alive, for Gods sake!! Stop working for tomorrow and live for today just a bit more, not in an irresponsible way but knowing it could be gone in an instant. Stop always holding something back and playing close to the vest....LIVE! In the end, I believe thats the legacy Jimmy left with people. I sense that he didnt hold back. Thats why this great man had so many friends and admirers. It didnt take long for him to leave a lasting impression on people, including me. Just wish I wouldve taken the time to know him better.... God bless you buddy, do a few reps up in heaven with Jesus as your spotter...
