Friends we posted yesterday about burglaries in the area and us needing your help to stop these trends. Well, a vigilant citizen saw a suspicious vehicle at a home this morning on Old Dalton-Cleveland Highway adjacent to our city limits, and promptly called 911. 2 Cohutta PD Officers, 1 VarnellPD Officer and deputies from Whitfield County SO responded without delay. Cohutta PD officers were able to arrest a suspect for burglary before he had time to escape, and also found a large quantity of methamphetamine in his vehicle along with scales used to weigh the drug for resale and other paraphernalia. This is in addition to what was recovered related to burglary crimes and tools for the commission of burglary and theft. Charges for all crimes are pending. YOUR HELP PAYS OFF!! Please keep this up and keep reporting suspicious persons or activity immediately. This also includes calling in on possible DUI and reckless drivers.
