Friendship with God (Part 7) -Noah & God Genesis 6:8-9 But Noah was different. God liked what he saw in Noah...Noah was a good man, a man of integrity in his community. Noah walked with God. This is what we call having not just an experience of God but a life with God. Its not just living off those supernatural, unexplainable moments with God, but maintaining a passionate and committed relationship. Its one thing to experience that tingly, warm, fuzzy feeling in intimate times of prayer and worship and something totally different to actually walk day in and day out with God. Noah did not just seek Gods face for the thrill and the emotion. His walk with God transformed his character and everyone around him was a witness. But once again, as with Job, Moses and Abraham, God sometimes tests our trust, our friendship, the boundaries of our commitment. Sometimes by asking us for pretty crazy requests. Many times our friendship with God will produce enmity with others. Not intentional of course, just because others will not understand, will reject and even hate the relationship you have with God because they feel you no longer belong with them. If people are telling you youve changed since you started walking with God, its probably because its true! If your reputation is not the same, if youre no longer the life of the party (wild parties), if your views have changed, if the way you express yourself is not like theirs...Well, thats the point. Our friendship with God revolutionizes our entire lives. It places us on a platform of scrutiny, mockery, judgment but also of tremendous influence and opportunity to bring salvation, restoration and hope to those around us. Noah wanted his friendship with God to be a bridge for others to reach God as well and not perish so he went around spreading the message, the warning. Unfortunately, he was rejected. But because of his integrity, his obedience and trust, God saved his family and 2 of every species from the great flood and gave them a second chance to start again. After the flood, God made a promise, a covenant to Noah that He will never ever destroy the earth with a flood again! I believe that in His friendship with you, God also wants to make a commitment to you to start over, to bring a second chance, a message of salvation and hope to those around you. He wants to wipe out the past, the bitterness, the hurt, the unhealthy, destructive patterns and make all things new starting with you. Through you, He wants to save many!!! Remember that as you walk with God you should expect transformation in yourself first, a transformation that others will notice. Some will reject you for it, but many will be transformed through you!!! Walk with me youtu.be/zbA8dw9clgI
