From 78.2% to 75.8% national matric pass. 2.4% drop. Yet learners in Grades 11 and downwards who obtained more than one level one on their end of the year results are pushed to the next Grades, and the Department of Education therefore call that Automatic Progression. This system might be working for countries such as U.K, Finland, Japan and Sweden, and they reckon itll work in South Africa? I doubt that. Our countrys matric results have declined by 2,4% just after the implementation of the new curriculum namely CAPS. According to Umalusi this curriculum is of the best quality, but again has brought about a decline in our matric results. Why do you think is that so? Multiple level ones in a learners progress report is a sign that a learner needs a special attention, options thatll enable them to overcome their problems. Automatic Progression is just one worst option, it is of no better resolution. #MyOpinion
