From ALICE (I): One of my favorite games is to try to associate ideas that seem to have no connection whatsoever. Today its about Holocaust Remembrance day and the weather. The word that comes to mind is nature. When it comes to the forces of nature, we cant predict them, stop them, or contain them without a deep understanding of how the natural world works. When we are able to do that, we can sometimes harness those forces to work for us, and we can work to predict and prepare for oncoming problems. If we have any hope of predicting, containing, or harnessing the malignant forces of human nature that led to the Holocaust, we need to explore our own nature with the same depth and complexity as we do the weather, and own those forces as they exist within ourselves. Please feel free to ignore my Tuesday morning snowed-in philosophical musings. ;) Hows the weather in your part of the world?
