From AMEP - Motorists cop another hit with proposed changes to Fuel Excise. Motorists dont mind paying their fair share, however, the question is, how much of the fuel excise currently goes back into road infrastructure. Currently we pay $0.38143 per litre in fuel excise and from our understanding only 9 cents goes back into road funding. Motorists are the most taxed Australians in this country, and it is only fair that 100% of what we contribute ends up being invested in road infrastructure. What are your thoughts on this tax hike for motorists?
