From Adam Stanley. I am very excited to announce that we have reached an agreement with Waynesboro Country Club (WCC). The board, along with Affinty Management, have agreed to bring pickleball to the club. The setting and surroundings are wonderful and the courts are lighted for play into the evening. We will be painting the pickleball lines on the tennis surface and will be starting with four courts with the option to add many more if the program is well supported. For those who have been searching for a venue to practice outdoors for tournaments over regulation nets, this is it. For those who love playing outdoors, here you go. Waynesboro Country Club will be offering a social/pickleball membership which includes use of the restaurant and pool for a very affordable rate. For those who choose not to join, play will be 5 dollars per day. This new venue will be open to all ages and skill levels. Everyone is welcome. It is likely that the proshop will start carrying some pickleball gear as well. In order to help this process along and show the club that we are committed to growing pickleball, I have promised to raise the funds to cover the cost of painting the pickleball lines and the purchase of 4 USAPA nets. Total cost to get this up and going will be around 1000.00 dollars. We are asking for your help and support. Patty Opstad will be collecting the donations. Her and I have donated to get the ball rolling. Jim Ellett from Lynchburg is available as early as next week to come over and paint the lines for us.
