From Brent: Parents, I hope you are all doing well and having a great start to the New Year. I wanted to take a moment and let you know about a few changes that will be happening over the next few months in the High School Ministry. I am sure that you have heard that Pastor Todd is on a sabbatical until March 1st. I have been asked to teach most Sundays in the main Worship service. I am excited about this opportunity for myself, but also for the High School Ministry. *The High School Ministry will continue on Sunday mornings as usual. Brad and I will be scheduling who will be teaching the High School Ministry during January and February. This will be a mixture of John McDaris, Amanda Metcalf, MA Dozier and Brad Snipes. I honestly believe the teaching will not miss a beat, as this is a great opportunity for the High School Ministry to hear from some great teachers. *I have challenged the high school students to join me in the first Worship service on Sunday mornings. I also want to challenge you as parents to encourage your high school students join me in the first Worship service on Sunday mornings. They would need your support to start a new routine to arrive to church by 9:30 AM. I see this as a great opportunity for them to get connected to the overall church. I pray God would continue to help them see that they have a place within the church now. *Four years of high school goes really fast and soon they will be graduating. Then your children will have the challenge of figuring out how to connect to the overall church as they go through all the challenges and changes that their future presents. If they learn NOW that they have a place in the church it will make the transition to college more fruitful in their walk with Christ. Please help by encouraging your children to arrive at the 9:30 AM service. My hope is to have the entire group on the front left side of the church. This will be a great encouragement to me, but also will be a great benefit for them as they continue to figure out what it means to follow Jesus. *Switch High School Small Groups will continue as normal. We will start small groups back this Sunday from 5:00-7:00 PM at our house. I will be at small groups hanging out and enjoying spending time with your children. *I plan to continue to attend Fellowship Christian Athletes at Brevard High School and Rosman High School, attend special events, attend games of our students, meet with your children for Bible Studies and discipleship. *The next two months will be a time of transition for our church and the High School Ministry…BUT this did not surprise God and He has an incredible plan for BCC and the High School Ministry over the next few months. We have an amazing team of High School leaders that will continue to pour their lives into your high school students. I really covet your prayers during this time. My prayer is that God will use the next couple of months in a mighty way in the lives of BCC and the High School students that we are blessed to serve. Thank you for your friendship and partnership in ministry. You guys mean so much to Amanda and me. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Love you guys!
