From: David Yardley Several media reports and State Representative Al Pscholka say that Michigan is projecting a “budget deficit.” That is not correct. This is all part of the Tax and Spend mentality of Pscholka and the Governor to try to build support for an increase in the sales tax with the May 5th Ballot Issue to raise taxes 16.7% on the hardworking families of Michigan. This is because they are only partial numbers basing their claims on, the general fund and School Aid Fund is expected to increase $663.7 million (3.1 percent) for the upcoming fiscal year. The $162.2 million projected deficit refers only to the general fund. The School Aid Fund is expected to have a fund balance of $172.2 million. There is more to Michigan’s budget than just the general fund.
