[From Dilip Rai, General Secretary, Press and Publicity, SKM] The MLAs of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Party today afternoon met with the President of Bharatiya Janta Party Shri Amit Shah at the BJP Head Office, 10- Ashoka Raod, New Delhi. The team of SKM MLAs was led by the party president Shri P.S. Tamang. On behalf of the people of Sikkim the SKM party president congratulated Shri Amit Shah for being the president of Bharatiya Janta Party. The SKM party president while congratulating the BJP president Shri Amit Shah also expressed the happiness of the people of Sikkim on the success of BJP for forming its govt at the centre and have great expectation from a dynamic Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also conveyed to the BJP president the hope and aspiration that the people of Sikkim have bestowed upon the BJP govt. on its sincere mission to uproot poverty and fight corruption. During the meeting with the BJP president the SKM team briefed him about the prevailing situation of Sikkim, ranging from the sphere of politics to socio-economic issues which seriously need to be addressed at this juncture from the central level. From a noteworthy perspective, along with the issue of corruption in Sikkim, which featured as a serious matter in the meeting, since it has engulfed the tiny state Sikkim, the issue of the restoration of democracy in Sikkim surfaced most prominently in the entire meeting. During the meeting the SKM party president Shri P.S. Tamang reiterated that whatever now exists in Sikkim in the name of democracy is elusive in character and in reality it is just a pseudo democracy being brought into existence by the present SDF govt. The SKM party president Shri P.S. Tamang expressing his satisfaction over today’s meeting said that, the issue of combating corruption and the restoration of democracy in Sikkim, the twin features of today’s meeting will have a positive impact which will definitely render justice to the people of Sikkim in the days to come.
